As I have mentioned before, I love snow and consequently, I love living in the temperamental, (normally-weathered) Northeast. You know, the one that doesn’t have temps in the 70s in January with herbs growing and nutcases kayaking.
As I am slightly weather-obsessed, I tend to keep an eye on the weather forecast in case some icy mess comes out of the sky to derail all my plans. Looks very much like tomorrow will be canceled.
My youngest daughter likes to scornfully inform me that no weather predictions can be one hundred per cent correct and there is now way to be certain. Well, yes that’s true, however when the national weather service throws out a couple of 100%s, I take it as near gospel. Tonight and tomorrow, the forecast calls for some serious snow and so, I have pretty much planned a girls and mom day for Friday. I have a movie all set - The Secret Garden - supplies for making cookies and enough food to choke a hippo. I am gong to try to entice Mrs. Chili and her little chilis to come over during the storm. For one thing, she knows how to drive in inclement weather and we’ll get a chance to have at it with Scrabble while the kids play and watch my dogs maniacally cavort in the snow.
Despite some gorgeous and sunny weather outside now, the hatches need battening and I might as well mail a check to the plow guy right now before it sits on my desk and he has to call me to remind me to pay him.

Sigh. When I woke up this morning, it was, indeed, snowing. Hard. And sideways.
Bleh…
I feel like I’m in a snow globe. Yeah, sideways!
Husband went off to work smirking at my concern for driving conditions. We used to travel in so much worse than this but when the school district cancels school, somehow that meant dire.
He took MY car, though; the one with 4-wheel drive.
