Ten Things Tuesday - Characters

I’m going with a theme for today from a prompt my mother came up with. I plan to use it in my (potential) composition class. I find out soon if the classes I am signed up to teach actually occur. Stay tuned.

Ten characters I would love to actually meet. And talk to or just watch. Or slap or hug - whatever works.

1. Aragorn. I think it might suffice to merely watch him, but a nice chat by a fire in the woods would do me wonders. And, um…

2. Yoda. I think he would take one look at me and ask, “For me, what question do you have? Long talk I think, we must have. ” I’d be a little, sucky acolyte.

3. Miles Vorkosian from Lois McMaster Bujold’s science fiction stories. This character managed to get into galaxies of trouble and extract himself using dazzling intelligence and outright bravado. A crafty little bugger with a great sense of humor.

4. Captain Picard. Uber geek that I am, I loved this man and considered this character as a part of the backdrop of my adolescence. Picking his brain on diplomacy and funny galactic stories - who could resist that?

5. Colonel Sherman T. Potter. I would mostly like to hug him. He was my idealized grampa.

6. Hawkeye Pierce. This MASH maverick had the biggest balls of any character in my youthful tv watching experience. Big heart and mouth to match.

7. Angel AND Willow from Buffy. Angst and dark black-eyeballed twistiness is just my cup of tea on occasion and I would love to hear them speak of their various experiences. AND if I could get him to show his game face, I could satisfy my curiosity as to how sharp those suckers are.

8. Meredith of Grey’s. I think I’d like to slap her around to get a clue.

9. Dumbledore. Snape. The true story!!

10. Lazarus Long. Methuselah’s Children by Heinlein introduced this crotchety old conniver. Lived a long time, he did and gathered a great many near miss stories, with much wisdom (some of it downright misogynistic) and snark.
