Ten Things Wednesday Afternoon: Scenes from my life
May 30, 2007 by Organic Mama
1. This is Bob’s hair. Although not a fan of anything bloggy, he consented to be partially photographed so that I could post photos of the unbelievable sproing curls/tentacles/horns that
protrude from his head. When it’s tightly curled in the morning, I know it’s just a matter of time until I can play with his hair in its unfettered state, later in the day.
2.The full moon has mucked up my sleep and as a result, I am a walking vegetable, not unlike those I planted. Perhaps I am a radish?
3.These are the lovely boots I scored in April, a photo of which I was unable to post because my husband’s camera was entirely uncooperative. I cannot wear them now - too hot - but I look forward to wearing them again in the fall. What do you think, Snob?
4. Sephira in all her hotness, er heatness, cuddling up to her blanket surrogate, the paper bag. Her first heat has made life that much more compelling and although she is currently out of the house, our male dog is clearly missing her. He whines piteously right near where her crate was. She won’t be back for at least another week, long after the danger of accidental pregnancy or any interest in a frolic is past. Sorry, Shem.
5.
Down this path, by many invasive trees not long for this world, lie about 60 blueberry bushes, many of which are currently flowering, and others already growing (green) blueberries. This path winds though the
other side of our property and is remote enough to persuade the visitor that she is far away from any civilization.
6. Six kinds of corn kernels, butternut squash seeds and pole beans are nice and damp in the looooong bed to the right; they’ll be sprouting soon, along with weeds from hell. If all goes well, everything will grow together and should be wondrous to behold; imagine beans growing around corn and squash sprouting around the corn. Uh oh, I AM a gardening geek, ’cause…
7. We’ve planted every color of carrot again - overplanted, really - and THIS (from 3 years ago) is what we’re aiming for..
.
8. This book is supplying a facet of hysterical, informative, nuanced depth that the textbook I teach Effective Communication from does not.
Go check it out.
9. Camp time is ridiculously imminent, so I have begun to surreptitiously pile crap in unused corners until probably 3 weeks from now, when we’ll be packing like maniacs.
10. My parents arrive on Friday, so who am I kidding? Out comes the thing that sucketh the most in the house, ’cause I could probably engender life in the dirt currently adorning my kitchen floor…

That is some SERIOUS hair!
Love the hair. Tell him this from me: “I know, Bob…I KNOW.”
I’m fascinated by the carrots, but we’ve already discussed that. I simply must find an organic market that has some.
The boots? Hotttttt. You should wear them every day - screw the heat, you’re smokin’. I’m hoping to use this time of unemployment to lose some weight so that I can finally get my dream boots come fall - knee high, lace up, heeled FMB’s BABY!
(you know FMB, right? F*!k me boots!)
His hair is something extraordinary to behold, truly. Does not the moniker BOB fit him well?
Snob, I’ll send some your way come September! You may be able to find some in the grocery store - last summer, I came across prepackaged colored carrots (yellow, red and purple) in my local foodstore so perhaps this means more national interest?
As for the FM boots, well, I hope your dream boots inspire fun your way, too!
