He's here at the moment and doesn't recommend NM (which works well on surfaces and many other things) because he says it's too late if the pee has soaked into the floorboards and subfloor. What he DOES recommend is to completely SEAL in the smell you'll never otherwise get out by shellacking or eurythaning the wood surfaces - anywhere the pee touched. My son has a bad habit of closing his bedroom doors so the cats can't get out (they don't like to sleep with him because he thrashes around so much in his sleep) and they have used his closet as a litter box. I have tried EVERYTHING to get the stench out. I even pulled up the carpet and treated the bad and the floorboards and it still stinks. IT's grossing me out big time.
