Each Sunday, Postsecret publishes its week of submissions, from both email and snail mail. This week, a very thoughtful and timely card was submitted:

Our weekend guests from Ottawa, activists for global women’s rights and environmental defense, respectively, initiated many conversations about what their organizations were specifically working on. Evie will soon be joining her bosses, six of the seven Women Nobel Laureates (the seventh is under house arrest in Burma), on a tour of refugee camps in Chad and Burma, raising awareness and taking part in the filming of a documentary at the same time. After Chad, she and her group will visit China, and what is being referred to the genocide Olympics.
She and I got into a variety of conversations about what we in the blogosphere could actually accomplish in terms of spreading awareness about issues, and China’s direct involvement in the Sundanese crisis came up. What can we do? For more information about the close economic ties, military operations and political relations between China and the Sudanese government, go HERE.
At Dreamfordarfur.org we can write letters to our members of Congress, to the International Olympic director, to Steven Spielberg (he’s the artistic director of the Games), we can write letters to the corporate sponsors of the Games, and let them know their involvement sullies their reputation.
We can do this.
We are all connected.

That card is going on my New Year’s post…
Isn’t it amazing? I just love that image and it’s no surprise that you do, too.
Some of us might benefit from a clearer explanation of the link between China and Darfur and the Olympics.
Kizz, you’re absolutely right. Fixing that…
