Things are settling back to normal now that I am back in my garden. I have just pulled 8 cucumbers out of the trellised plants and will start the whole salt/garlic/dill pickling process this weekend. For now, after days away from my garden, the zucchinis are producing baseball bat-sized fruit, the peas are weighed down by all the pods waiting to be picked and the squash vines have gone wacko all over the place. Every summer I expect things to stay neat and tidy the way we plant them and by the end of July, viny chaos has ensued. Whatever, eh?
Echinacea is finally in bloom! After nearly 4 inches of rain fell up here in the Northeast, my flowers are drying out and standing still while I take photos…
The monarch are harder to train!
Happy Friday, everyone! What are you up to this weekend? Bob and I are heading to see Dark Knight…

Enjoy Dark Knight! My husband and I liked Batman Begins better, though.
I guess Begins was so great that we went into Dark Knight with too high of expectations. It was good, though!
It may be because I attended the midnight screening of Dark Night with an entire theatre full of geeks…but it did not fail to dazzle, despite expectations.
Have fun! I think you’ll enjoy it.
I think I planted to late. I have one cuke that is almost ready and a bunch of cherry tomatoes that I check every 5 minutes because I am impatiently waiting for them to turn red. No sign of peppers. Sigh. On a positive note, my basil is doing very well.
I had many plans. Only a couple of them actually came to fruition.
