1. Ahhh, coffee.  I stumble, bleary eyed, to darling husband who hands me a cup.  Our day wouldn’t be right without our coffee on the couch commune every morning. And when I say coffee, I mean black, strong and intense.
2. Yesterday, I faced up to something I had been avoiding – funny, things don’t just [...]

Whole chucks of time have disappeared lately and I’m busy enough that not only have I not been visiting other blogs much, I haven’t had time to write. I am hopeful that things will shift soon so I can be more of a presence here and your sites.
1.My niece’s Bat Mitzvah was wonderful.  Decked out [...]

For some obscure reason, I have a persistent bitter taste in my mouth.
It has nothing to do with my in-laws, who were, by coincidence, visiting when first I noticed that virtually everything I ate – no matter how tasty – was veiled in this nasty harsh taste.  Buttery and syrupy waffles? Roast lamb? Chicken? Chocolate?

1. Kids are on break this week, which means a lot of Wii playing, baking (Miss Boo loves to create things in the kitchen, which keeps her from being sucked in, zombielike, to the computer) and seeing friends.

1. This funeral today is that of my SIL’s mother; I [...]

Tomorrow, Boo turns 14.
Gone are the days when a party happened at the local Y with swimming, or at the bowling alley, or even at the pottery-painting place.  Ths year, as we have done for several years, Boo is having a joint party with Anna, who is not only in Boo’s gang of friends, but [...]

Like whining and complaining is going to get me anywhere?
I’ve been at this vastly simplified food regimen for a week now and I’m pleased to say that armed with the roughly hundred billion cookbooks that normally collect dust on the baker’s rack in my kitchen, I’m trying new recipes and hardly noticing that I’m avoiding [...]

I give you good day on this only marginally chilly Friday in January! Are we fucking done with winter yet? My offering today is Fucking Famished Floral Friday.
This morning,  Chili and I went for a quick jaunt into scenic local coastal town and had some lunch. I didn’t see any flowers, although there was [...]
